FIEC for a New Day

From 1 September 2010, the changes agreed under the 'FIEC for a New Day' restructuring come into force. John Stevens has been appointed as FIEC Director and he will be supported by Richard Underwood as Churches' and Pastors Support Director and Trevor Archer as Training Director.

A new trust board has been established to replace the FIEC Council and an annual FIEC Leaders Conference, incororating the annual assembly of church delegates, will take place each Autumn (2010 Leaders' Conference details).

These changes were approved by the churches at a special assembly in November 2009 after an extensive consultation. The necesary constitutional changes to give effect to the changes were approved at FIEC Annual Assembly held in April 2010.

The aim of these changes is to enable the Fellowship to deliver its ministries in the most effective way, and support local churches in the 21st century. Having changed our structures we now need to work at delivering the benefits to the churches on the ground. This is a long-term undertaking, so we see these changes as the dawn of a new day.
